About Lumina Counseling Wellness

Lumina Counseling Wellness is a highly specialized DBT practice serving the Miami community since 2019 (Previously MG Psychology), led by Dr. Maribel Gonzalez, a DBT- Linehan Board Certified Clinician. We specialize in helping those who struggle with intense and persistent emotion dysregulation and feel out of control, stuck in chaos, hopeless, and at times engage in self-harming and/or unhealthy behaviors. Our mission is to help unlock our client’s true potential so they can triumph over life's obstacles, rediscover hope and live fulfilling lives.

What We Offer

As a therapist in our practice, you will have the chance to work with adolescents, young adults and their families while learning or further developing your skills in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Previous DBT training is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and family therapy.

  • Lead and co-facilitate DBT skills groups for teens, adults, and parents once trained.

  • Participate in a weekly DBT consult team meetings and additional staff meetings.

  • Maintain electronic clinical records in compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.

  • Collaborate with our team to ensure the highest standard of client care.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher with active Florida license.

  • At least 3-5 years of clinical experience with adolescents and/or young adults.

  • Willing to work as an independent contractor and see at least 10 clients weekly.

  • Fluent in evidence-based treatment commonly used with children, adolescents and adults (CBT, ACT, DBT)

  • Willingness to learn, receive feedback and grow professionally. 

  • Fluency in both Spanish & English is preferred.
