About Lumina Counseling Wellness

Lumina Counseling Wellness is a highly specialized DBT practice serving the Miami community since 2019 (Previously MG Psychology), led by Dr. Maribel Gonzalez, a DBT- Linehan Board Certified Clinician. We specialize in helping those who struggle with intense emotion dysregulation and feel constantly out of control, stuck in chaos, hopeless, and at times engage in self-harming and/or unhealthy behaviors. Our mission is to help unlock our client’s true potential so they can triumph over life's obstacles, rediscover hope and live fulfilling lives.

Primary Clinician for Adults and Adolescents

As a DBT therapist in our practice, you will have the chance to work with diverse and struggling clientele while further developing your skills in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Previous DBT training is not required as we provide comprehensive training and cover all associated costs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who values ongoing learning and collaboration and has a strong dedication for treating a population with multiple problems in multiple domains.

This is a full-time position requiring 20 plus direct client hours per week. Clinicians are expected to provide comprehensive DBT which includes the four modes of treatment (individual, group, phone coaching and weekly team consultation). While the hours are generally flexible, an ideal candidate would be available until 7pm at least 2 nights a week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual DBT and family therapy.

  • Lead and co-facilitate DBT skills training groups for teens, adults, and parents.

  • Extend phone coaching to clients according to treatment protocol.

  • Participate in a weekly DBT consult team meetings and additional staff meetings.

  • Attend training opportunities to enhance your clinical skills.

  • Maintain electronic clinical records in compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.

  • Collaborate with our team to ensure the highest standard of client care.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.

  • Active Florida state licensure. 

  • Willingness to learn, receive feedback and grow professionally. 

  • Fluency in both Spanish & English is preferred.

  • Ability to work well with a diverse clientele in a collaborative environment.
